Richard was born in Henderson Kentucky.  He is the only child of Richard and Mickey Cox.  He attended Central Grade School, Barret Junior High and Henderson City High.  He attended Eastern Kentucky University on an athletic scholarship for tennis and received a BFA; Bachelor of Fine Arts, degree in music and theatre.  He attended Murray State University and received a MS; Master of Science, degree in Communications with emphasis in television production and broadcast management.  Richard has appeared in over 300 stage, film, television and commercial projects.  He just recently completed a pilot for the television series "Dark Room Theaters To Grandmothers House We Go".  Some of his favorite roles have been John Morgon in "Jane Eyre" Gene Marcus in "To Grandmothers House We Go", Lord Savage in "Jekyll and Hyde" Moon Face Martin in "Anything Goes", Mr. Bumble in "Oliver" and Professor Marvel/Gatekeeper/Wizard in "Wizard of Oz".
